TOSHI REAGON

Toshi Reagon is an American icon. She performs a powerful blend of folk, blues, gospel, rock, and funk. Born into a family deeply rooted in music and activism, she has built a remarkable career marked by her compelling voice and socially conscious lyrics. Reagon's work includes not only an extensive music catalogue, but an innovative theatrical productions as well such as Octavia E. Butler's "Parable of the Sower" which she and her mother turned into an immersive opera. Her music and performances continue to inspire and empower audiences worldwide.

Toshi's brand went deep into who she is as person and her world view. Her typography was created by studying the lettering on the famous marquee at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, an icon of LGBTQ+ history and lore. Her color palette is based on the work of her friend and prominent artist Daniel Minter. Her logomark is her most beloved tattoo, a sword she says is for protection from all the crazies out there.

Her brand identity was repurposed for not only her personal brand, but also for the touring Parable of the Sower Opera, her mother and prominent American figure, the late Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, as well as the mother organization that holds them all together, Wise Reagon Arts.
